The cool ocean breezes from the Atlantic slightly help to cool the air, and keep the air quality up to par. Any time of year is great for watersports, as the water temperature stays rather balmy. Winter in Ft. Lauderdale is perfect. The temperatures average in the high to mid-70s (perfect for any outdoor sport), dropping to mid 60s at night. Summer is the rainy season. There may be a rain squall or two, but it's not usually enough to put a damper on your outdoor activities for the day.
